Spring ORC: Week 1- The Glampground

Here we go again! It’s time for another One Room Challenge and this is the 3rd time I will be participating. Last Spring we rebuilt our bridge and built a beach area by the creek, this Spring we are back outside and building out a full-on glamground on the other side of the bridge!

The Project

Of course I have plenty of projects I could do inside the house, but there is just something about this time of year where I cant help but be outside and making an outdoor space for the family. Every year we host a weekend campout cookout but also we are a family that loves to camp, so why not make space in our own front yard where we can enjoy as a family and also host family and friends?!

The Plan

This Spring ORC is going to be so much fun!

We are starting with a blank slate full of large pine logs and will be ending this challenge with a full tent platform a 16′ glamping tent, and fire pit area, a climbing log (I will explain more later), and altogether a space that is designed for fun and gathering.

I am really looking forward to this project and I am excited to share it with you over the next 8 weeks!

The Checklist

  • Move a massive pine tree
  • Mill the pine wood to use for various projects
  • Build a tent platform
  • Build an outdoor shower
  • Create gathering spaces such as firepit and dining areas

But first… DEMO

The tractore was the MVP of the demo crew, that’s for sure! This was a demo like never before as we had to not only clear teh space of regualr debris but move the pieces of the massive 100’+ tree that was recently cut down by pg&e.

Follow Along

Are you ready to follow along? I have created a story over on my Instagram Lazy Haven account and will be making weekly posts of the progress and the projects to come.
